Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable Shop Helper to assist with the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment in a fast-paced shop environment. This role is ideal for someone mechanically inclined and eager to learn. You will support technicians by preparing tools, cleaning equipment, organizing the workspace, and performing basic maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist mechanics with repairs and servicing of heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, bulldozers, excavators)

• Clean and maintain shop area, tools, and equipment

• Deliver tools, parts, and supplies to technicians as needed

• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, greasing fittings, and checking fluid levels

• Maintain inventory of tools and parts

• Dispose of used materials properly in accordance with safety guidelines

• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a maintenance or mechanical setting preferred

• Basic mechanical knowledge or willingness to learn

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

• Must pass drug screening and background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with heavy equipment or diesel engines

• Forklift certification a plus

• Basic tool usage knowledge
