Laundry Attendant
Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the laundry area while ensuring efficient operation of all laundry equipment. This role is essential in supporting the overall guest experience and maintaining the hotel's or facility's cleanliness and upkeep
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment including washers, dryers, and ironing machines according to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items following established guidelines.
- Inspect laundry for stains or damage, and take appropriate action such as removing stains or making necessary repairs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, ensuring the workspace is safe and free from hazards.
- Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and report low stock to the supervisor.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of laundry machinery as needed, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure timely laundry service according to operational needs.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and sanitation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a laundry facility, hotel, or similar environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment and laundry processes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Basic knowledge of chemical handling and safety protocols preferred.
Working Conditions
- The Laundry Attendant will primarily work in the laundry room or facility and may be exposed to loud machinery and various cleaning chemicals.
- This position may require standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to [specify pounds], as well as working in various temperatures.
