Job Description: Utility Worker/Food Service Worker ($13.00/hr)

We are seeking a competent and dedicated individual to join our team as a Utility Worker/Food Service Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to maintaining cleanliness and organization within our food service establishment. Your primary goal will be to ensure a clean and hygienic environment where our customers can enjoy their meal.

Responsibilities:

1. Cleanliness and Sanitation: Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing all food preparation and serving areas. Ensure all surfaces, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized according to established standards. Assist with the proper disposal of waste and removal of garbage.

2. Dishwashing: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, silverware, and other kitchen utensils. Hand wash delicate items that cannot be machine-washed. Ensure all cleaned items are properly stored in designated areas.

3. Food Preparation Assistance: Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as cutting vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning food items. Follow proper food handling procedures and maintain a high level of health and safety standards in accordance with local regulations.

4. Stock Management: Receive and store food and kitchen supplies according to established guidelines. Keep track of inventory levels and notify management when items need to be replenished. Maintain orderly storage areas, ensuring that all products are properly labeled, dated, and rotated to minimize waste.

5. Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, answering basic inquiries and providing assistance when needed. Communicate effectively with the kitchen staff and maintain a cooperative working relationship with colleagues.

6. Equipment Maintenance: Follow proper cleaning and maintenance procedures for all kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers. Report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

7. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Comply with all established procedures related to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience working in a food service environment, preferably as a utility or food service worker.
- Basic knowledge of proper food handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a hot or cold environment.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
